Privacy Policy

At Exquisite Home, we take the same care with your personal information as we do with your move. This policy explains how Exquisite Homes (Cambridge) Limited collects, uses and protects your personal information, in line with UK data protection law.

1. Who we are

Exquisite Homes (Cambridge) Limited, trading as Exquisite Home, is the data controller for the information you give us. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 14517693. Our registered office is Scarletts Chase Offices, Scarletts Chase, West Bergholt, Colchester, Essex CO6 3DH, and our head office is at St John’s Innovation Centre, Cambridge CB4 0WS.

2. The information we collect

We only collect the information we need to provide our services and meet our legal obligations. This includes:

  • Identity and contact details: your name, address, email address and telephone numbers.
  • Property details: information about your current home, what you are looking for in your next one and your timescales.
  • Financial and compliance information: what we need for anti-money laundering checks, tenant referencing and confirming how a buyer will fund their purchase.
  • Technical information: standard information collected when you use our website, which we use to understand how the site is used and to improve our marketing.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • give accurate, evidence-based valuations and advice;
  • manage the sale, purchase or letting of your home from start to finish;
  • meet our legal obligations, including tenancy law, anti-money laundering rules and financial regulation;
  • keep in touch with you clearly and promptly throughout your move.

4. Who we share it with

We never sell your information to marketing companies. We share it only where it is needed for your move, and with your agreement, with trusted firms such as our mortgage partner for mortgage advice, or with conveyancers. Where we receive a referral fee for an introduction, we will always tell you first. We also use carefully chosen systems, such as our property management software, to run our service, and these process information on our behalf under strict terms.

5. Information held outside the UK

Some of the systems we use may store or process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we make sure the transfer is covered by the safeguards required under UK data protection law.

6. Keeping your information safe

We use appropriate physical and electronic security to prevent unauthorised access to, or the loss or alteration of, your personal information. We keep it only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, including any legal, accounting or reporting requirements.

7. Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to ask us to correct anything that is wrong, to ask us to delete your information where the law allows, and to object to certain uses of it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk), although we would be grateful for the chance to put things right first.
